The Hold Steady at Castaways

Draft document

To paraphrase a song lyric, 'bby the canadian trio rush, and the men (and women) who hold high places must be the ones who start to mold a new reality closer to the heart. Tanks to my friends who got me a ticket, I witnessed a performance on Sunday evening, June 4th (2009) by a band called the HOLD Steady at Castaways that was truly inspirational.

It is said that out of great pain comes great art. I don't need to reiterate here the magnitute if the times, the times we are living in. Suffice to say, we have a man of the people. Trying to keep hope alive, and we have some beautiful music to fuel our drive.

The Hold Steady, being a cutting edge modern band that in my opinion captures this ere with an articulate rocking happy sound. In permance the band is both contagious, and dancable, with practically a hang in there' anthem.

The five men on stage are a razor sharp unit who clearly enjoy what they do and celebrate the oppourtunity their audience gives the to do it.

On my way out from the show, I had a breif moment to speak with the crew as they were loading out. They are a professional group of roaddogs, thats for sure. A building is onlu as strong as it's foundation. tHAT'S WHY i MENTIONED THE CREW, THEY MAKE A GREAT BAND POSSIBLE. (This bud's for you, guys)

Oh yea, one last thing, the songs. Sequestered in Memphis Lord I'm Discouraged, and the CD title cut spoke to this writer the first time I heard it, like classic rock favorites.

Get this CD and enjoy. Two great catch phrases of these times that everyone should repeat three times a day; 'Yes, we can', and 'stay positive'.!!!
